A leading consultant and business leader died this week at 73 and will be laid to rest in Tuscaloosa next week.

According to his obituary, William F. O’Connor Jr., who was known to many as "OC" died Monday after a brief illness.

O'Connor ran the Results, LLC firm and his positions of note included stints as the CEO of the Business Council of Alabama, executive director of the Alabama Press Association, and director of public relations for the Alabama Department of Mental Health.

The two-time University of Alabama graduate also served as an administrator there in several capacities, including roles as assistant to the President and as the UA System's Vice Chancellor for Governmental Relations.

According to his obituary, O'Connor is survived by his wife Vicki Gray O'Connor and daughter Anna O'Connor Norris along with five brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be held next Tuesday, September 17, at 1 p.m. at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. Following the service, the family will welcome friends at Indian Hills Country Club at 2:30 p.m.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Montgomery Country Club.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Bill O’Connor’s name to the College of Communication and Information Sciences.
