A.C.A.’s Kamari Lassiter Chosen For All-American Bowl
The American Christian Academy Patriots (8-0, 6-0) are one of the strongest teams in the Tuscaloosa area. One of the leaders of the Class 4A Region 3 Champion Patriots is cornerback and wide receiver Kamari Lassiter. The senior athlete has been a major factor in his team's success and recently was invited to the All-American Bowl.
"It's a dream come true, honestly. That's a goal I set when I was very young because I used to watch guys Najee Harris, Tim Tebow all play in that game. Now to be a part of that, its a dream come true," said Lassiter.
The 6-foot athlete is rated a 3-star prospect by 247Sports but he is being recruited by several big name programs. He has scholarship offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida State and several other schools.
Lassiter is second on the Patriots in receptions with 15 for 338 yards and five touchdowns offensively. Playing defensive back he has been in on 38 tackles, 9 for a loss five pass breakups and one forced fumble. In his most recent game he had a 100-yard pick-6 nullified by an inadvertent whistle.
He is a part of an offense that averages 50 points per game while his defense gives up only 19 points per game.
The senior just helped his team win its third region championship in a row but likely has eyes on a larger prize, the Patriots are the No. 1 ranked 4A school in the AHSAA Power rankings after seven weeks.
