
84-Year-Old Fayette Man Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash Wednesday Evening
A multiple-vehicle crash in Fayette County Wednesday evening claimed the life of an 84-year-old man.
According to a release from Corporal Reginal King with the Troopers Office in West Alabama, the crash happened at 5:37 p.m. Wednesday on Alabama 171 near mile marker 42, approximately four miles north of Fayette.

The release states a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country minivan driven by James E. Gilpin struck a 2017 Dodge Ram driven by a 24-year-old Tuscaloosa resident.
Following the initial accident, Gilpin collided head-on with a 2004 Honda Pilot driven by a 28-year-old Millport woman.
Gilpin was pronounced dead at the scene. The Millport woman was taken to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for injuries she sustained in the crash.
No other information is available as troopers with ALEA's Highway Patrol Division continues to investigate the incident.
