Each day counting down to Alabama's Week 1 matchup with Utah State, I will highlight one former player whose jersey number coincides with the amount of days until the game. Today, let's look at the career of one of the fiercest pass rushers of the Nick Saban era, Tim Williams.

Tim Williams joined the Crimson Tide as a four-star recruit in the 2013 cycle.  Hailing from Louisiana, Williams was ranked as the third best player in the state and the second best at his position in the nation, per 247Sports.

Despite interest from nearly every major SEC program, the 6-foot-3, 225 lb. edge rusher committed to Alabama and was thrust into the lineup as a freshman, appearing in seven games.

In 2014, as a sophomore, Williams continued to see time in the rotation, appearing in 12 games and recording five tackles, 1.5 TFL's and 1.5 sacks. The Crimson Tide finished the season 12-2, suffering its final loss to Ohio State in the first round of the inaugural College Football Playoff.

As a junior, Williams became a much bigger contributor to the defense. Alongside names like Christian Miller and Ryan Anderson, the Baton Rouge native was a force to be reckoned with off the edge. Williams recorded 18 tackles, 11.5 TFL's and 9.5 sacks as the Tide's third down enforcer and Alabama finished the year 14-1 with a national title.

In his final season at Alabama, Williams continued to terrorize opposing backfields, finishing the year with 31 tackles, 16.0 TFL's and 9.0 sacks. Alabama met with Clemson once again in the national title game, but suffered a loss at the hands of Deshaun Watson and the Tigers.

Despite entering his senior season as one of the top rated pass rushers in the class, Williams fell to the third round in the 2017 NFL Draft where he was selected by the Baltimore Ravens.

The former four-star spent three seasons in Baltimore before being released and picked up by the Green Bay Packers ahead of 2019. While Williams joined a defense more suited to his skillset, he was unable to find a role for himself and was released again before the 2020 season.

After his stint with the Packers, Williams spent a few months as a member of the Seattle Seahawks practice squad, and was eventually signed to the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL.

Although Williams was expected to possibly be a big contributor for the Roughriders, he suffered a torn Achilles ahead of the 2021 season and was forced to miss the whole year. Saskatchewan released Williams in February of 2022 without him ever having taken the field.

While his time on the field may have been short lived, Williams has remained busy. The former defender started a music career in April of 2020, taking on the stage name, "$icario500." Williams has since released several tracks, as well as two full-length albums in 2021. Check out his latest song, "Pink Whitney (Explicit)," which came out in February of 2022.
