One person is dead after a stabbing at an apartment complex in Tuscaloosa's Alberta City, police said Friday morning.

Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the multi-agency Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said police were called to Claybrook Apartments on Claybrook Drive Friday morning on reports of a stabbing.

One victim was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa for treatment, but Kennedy said the victim did not survive their injuries.

Kennedy alerted local media to the killing at 8:45 Friday morning and said police taken a suspect in custody.
