Veronica Ellene Burt (February 7th, 1953 – May 3rd, 2024)

Veronica Ellene Burt, age 71, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, passed away May 3, 2024 at her residence.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2024, at Cornelius Chapel Baptist Church in Buhl with Bro. Andy Dockery officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Magnolia Chapel North directing. Visitation will be 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Nina Fay Dockery; brother, Edward Dockery; and niece, Melissa Dockery.

Survivors include her daughter, Amye Hinson (Brian); sons, John Burt (Kacey) and David Burt (Jamie); sister, Barbara Walker; brother, Douglas Dockery (Sharon); grandchildren, Kade Burt, Wyatt Burt, Kaylee Burt, Samantha Hinson, Connor Burt, Riley Burt, and River Burt; and sister-in-law, wife of Edward, Karon Dockery.

Ellene was a longtime resident of the Buhl and Coker communities before moving to Tuscaloosa in 2020 to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She was a graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School and worked for many years at State Farm Insurance, before retiring. She was a wonderful mother who loved her children and grandchildren. She was proud of her children’s accomplishments, supported them, and made sure they were always taken care of. She made sure her children were brought up in the church. We can take comfort in knowing that she is in Heaven, and we will see her again. She is no longer suffering and has been healed.

Pallbearers will be John Burt, David Burt, Brian Hinson, Danny Walker, Kade Burt, and Wyatt Burt.

Honorary pallbearers are the employees and staff of Druid City Electric.
