Scottie Sanford (May 22, 1942 – September 7, 2026)

Scottie Sanford, 84, passed away September 7, 2026, at home.

A memorial service will be held at East McFarland Baptist Church on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Arrangements will be handled by Cremation Services of Birmingham. The family will hold a private burial.

Scottie was born on May 22, 1942, to Frank and Carrie Sanford. He worked as a butcher at Winn-Dixie for many years. He also owned and operated Scott's Pest Control for 26 years. He was a faithful member of East McFarland Baptist Church. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Leon, Bill and Macon; and sisters Pearline Hamilton and Judy Hawthorne.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen; son Kevin Sanford (Stephanie); daughter Kara Rogers (Chip); grandchildren Tyler and Kaycee Sanford, Cameron and John Riley Rogers; sisters Joyce Spradlin (Ronnie) and Sara Watkins; brother Jimmy Sanford (Mary Anne); and a host of nieces and nephews.
